Secured through competitive tender John Southworth delivered the restoration and conversion of this historic building in Glossop, transforming a former church and hall into 14 apartments, whilst maintaining the external experience and architecture of the building.
Located on Princess Street, under ½ mile of Glossop town centre, and nestled in a conservation area, this former place of worship, which opened its doors in 1869 had seen a dwindling congregation, closing in 2008 leaving it vulnerable to vandalism. Although not listed, a sympathetic restoration was required leaving the outside virtually untouched (including the stained-glass windows) and keeping many of the original facades contained within.
This complex development took 12 months to complete and demanded a well experience and dedicated team completing the project on time and with zero defects!
