John Southworth and Johnnie Johnson Housing Trust worked collaboratively on this complex development to convert a disused listed building into 20 shared ownership apartments.

Located within a conservation area of Stockport town centre the development was perfectly located close to local shops, market, bars and restaurants, along with great transport links and surrounding country parks, This development had various challenges to overcome, none greater then the repurposing of a vandalised graveyard to historically and sympathetically create a community garden within the heart of the development.

Supported by the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA), Heritage Lottery Fund and Stockport councils conservation team, the site is recognised as one of the priority heritage developments targeted on safeguarding the distinctive character of the local area.
