John Southworth Launches ‘Constructing Careers’ to Boost Apprenticeships and Training

John Southworth is proud to introduce Constructing Careers, our dedicated initiative to support and develop talent in the construction industry. This program is designed to offer hands-on experience, mentorship, and career opportunities to individuals looking to build a future in construction.

A range of initiatives are included….

  • New Apprenticeships: The upcoming launch of apprenticeships in brickwork and groundworks, providing essential training for aspiring tradespeople.
  • Ongoing Support for Apprentices and Trainees: We continue to back our team members, as they progress in their careers.
  • Collaborations with Education providers: Working with The Manchester College to offer rolling placements in Carpentry & Joinery, Brickwork, Electrics, and Painting & Decorating.

Partnering with Tameside College on various initiatives, including encouraging female students to explore trade opportunities, attending and presenting at careers and employment events and supporting CITB initiatives to enhance industry training.

Skills Academy Partnership: Collaboration with the Skills Academy in Collyhurst to deliver groundwork workshops, supporting their bootcamp courses.

Community Engagement: Our team is actively attending events such as the Moss Side Jobs Fair to promote career opportunities in construction.

STEM Advocacy (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics): A dedicated STEM ambassador, inspiring the next generation of construction professionals.
