About the Development

Wakefield Court is a 16-home residential scheme being delivered for Weaver Vale on a brownfield site in an established residential area, approximately two miles from Northwich town centre.

Formerly home to sheltered accommodation, the site sits close to local shops and within 500 metres of both a primary and a high school, making thoughtful engagement with neighbours and the local community a key priority throughout the build.

Best Practice Highlights

Community engagement and consideration

  • Clear processes in place to manage compliments, comments and complaints, recorded and reviewed our FieldWire system.
  • An open day held for immediate neighbours prior to works commencing, providing an opportunity to discuss concerns and site activity.

Positive local impact

  • Support for local schools, including an industry careers presentation to Year 9 students at a nearby high school.
  • Hosting NEET work experience students through the Procure Plus government-backed scheme.
  • Support for the local Men in Sheds charity through material donations, provision of a waste skip and refurbishment of a community shed.

Environmental responsibility

  • Strong environmental controls promoted through site inductions, toolbox talks and displayed management plans.
  • Rainwater harvesting installed and used for plastering tool cleaning.
  • Supply chain partners required to contribute carbon-saving plans during prequalification.
  • Membership of CHAS Elite, supporting high environmental and safety standards.

Valuing the workforce

  • A clear focus on wellbeing, inclusion and development, including:
    • Apprenticeships and work experience opportunities for young people.
    • Promotion of occupational health, healthy lifestyle and wellbeing advice on site.
    • Equality, diversity and inclusion policies actively promoted.

Steven Brown, Managing Director said: “Achieving an Excellent score of 43 out of 45 at Wakefield Court is a fantastic reflection of the standards our teams set on every project.
