Considerate Constructor Wakefield Court

Wakefield Court is a new development of 16 high-quality homes delivered for Weaver Vale, located just two miles from Northwich Town Centre. This project brings new life to a previously unused brownfield site, transforming it into a vibrant residential community. Ideally positioned, the development benefits from nearby local shops as well as both primary and secondary schools.

The site recently underwent an inspection by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, achieving an impressive score of 37 out of 45. The inspector praised the team’s proactive community engagement and commitment to presenting a positive image of the construction industry, stating:

“The site proactively engages with the local community and ensures it presents a positive image of the industry, supports local charities and groups, and promotes industry career opportunities. It’s encouraging to see regular communication with neighbours and the local community via newsletters, social media, and a community notice board. Site open days have also provided an opportunity for information sharing and questions.”

Construction began in April, and the Considerate Constructors Scheme recognised the site as Very Good to Excellent across three key areas:

  • Respecting the Community
  • Caring for the Environment
  • Valuing the Workforce

Highlights of Best Practice:

  • The team delivered a careers presentation to Year 9 students at a nearby high school, promoting opportunities in the construction industry.
  • The project supports the local Men in Sheds charity by donating materials, providing a waste skip, and helping refurbish an old shed.
  • Apprenticeships and work experience placements are actively offered to school and college students.
  • In response to recent hot weather, sun cream and free ice creams have been made available to the workforce to ensure their wellbeing.

Steven Brown, Managing Director, commented, “We are committed to managing safe, respectful sites and building strong relationships with the communities in which we work. It’s especially rewarding to engage with local schools and inspire the next generation of tradespeople—something that brings pride to our entire team.”
