The team at John Southworth support a charity every year, with a range of activities and fundraising events – for the next 12 months the charity has been announced as Kinder Mountain Rescue Team.

Kinder Mountain Rescue Team relies on approximately 50 volunteers to rescue numerous people each year, whether lost or injured, both on the hills within the Peak District National Parks and in the surrounding urban areas, the team responds 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year – the men and women of Kinder Mountain Rescue Team have been saving lives in wild and remote places for forty years.

MD, Steven Brown says, “We are proud to be able to support an organisation that really needs support to help keep the countryside safe for people to enjoy. Our Team is looking forward to some training from the rescue team as part of an upcoming away day. We have lots of fundraising events planned for the year and are starting with an intense triathlon! We have a JustGiving page for anyone wishing to show their support”

A spokesperson for the Team said ”We are absolutely delighted and deeply honoured to have been selected as John Southworth’s charity of the year and are extremely grateful to them for their amazing fundraising efforts; as a largely self-funded, volunteer-run Charity, with running costs in excess of £30,000 per year, it is only through the incredible generosity of the public and local organisations like John Southworth that we can continue to help others, both on and off the hills. We wish them the very best of luck for their triathlon – hope you all have a fabulous day”.
