Kenyon Lane is a development of nine new timber-frame homes delivered for Jigsaw Housing Group, forming part of Manchester City Council’s Project 500, an initiative focused on regenerating brownfield land and meeting local housing needs.
The site recently underwent an inspection by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, achieving an outstanding score of 42 out of 45.
The Inspector rated the site as Very Good to Excellent across the scheme’s three key pillars:
- Respecting the Community
- Caring for the Environment
- Valuing the Workforce
Best Practice Highlights:
- Collaboration with Tameside College and Salford University to offer training, placements, and apprenticeships
- Waste reduction through thoughtful building design and use of precast and off-site construction methods, including timber frame
- 92% of materials sourced from local suppliers, supporting the regional economy
- Charitable donations made to a local hospice, reflecting a strong commitment to community wellbeing
