Considerate Constructor Lathbury Road

We’re proud to share that our Lathbury Road development has achieved an Excellent score of 44 out of 45 in its latest Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) Monitor’s Report.

The site, which is delivering six 2- and 3-bedroom timber frame homes, scored Excellent across all three CCS categories:

Respect the Community15/15
Care for the Environment15/15
Value their Workforce14/15

This result reflects the consistent focus of the site team on high standards, responsible construction practices and positive engagement with the local community.

Strong Community Focus

The project has exceeded its targets for local procurement, achieving 66% local materials and supply chain involvement against a 50% target. In addition, the team has delivered meaningful social value activity, including:

  • £3,000 of improvement works to the Chippenham Road community garden
  • Donation of 300 crème eggs to a local hospice Easter fundraiser
  • Installation of outdoor furniture at five sheltered housing schemes

These activities align with the project’s wider social value priorities, including supporting resilient communities, improving local places, strengthening the local economy and supporting healthier, happier people.

Environmental Responsibility

The Lathbury Road homes are being delivered to an enhanced specification, with a clear ambition to support the transition towards Net Zero carbon. The monitor recognised the site’s strong environmental performance, supported by:

  • ISO 14001 accreditation
  • Completion of all relevant ecology surveys with appropriate control measures in place
  • Delivery of toolbox talks to raise awareness of climate change and carbon reduction
  • Biodiversity Net Gain measures, including the installation of bat and swift boxes and the retention of existing trees

These measures contributed to a full 15/15 score in the Care for the Environment category.

The CCS monitor thanked the team for their cooperation during the visit and commended the progress made since the previous inspection, noting that the only remaining improvement relates to emergency planning, which is already being progressed by the company’s Health & Safety team.

Achieving a 44/45 Excellent score is a real credit to everyone involved in the Lathbury Road project and reflects our ongoing commitment to quality, sustainability, workforce wellbeing and positive community impact.
