We’re delighted to announce that our Technical Director, Steve, is now officially registered as a STEM Ambassador, joining a national network of professionals who volunteer their time to inspire young people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
STEM Ambassadors play an important role in inspiring the next generation by sharing their expertise through school visits, workshops, talks, and hands-on activities. By helping students understand how STEM subjects connect to real jobs and real industries, they encourage greater confidence and aspiration which is something that is crucial for the future of the construction sector.
With more than 37 years of experience across architectural design, technical detailing, project management and regulatory compliance, Steve will be able to provide an incredible depth of real-world knowledge to the STEM Ambassador programme.
His background in areas such as Building Safety Act compliance, BREEAM and Passivhaus principles, digital design tools, construction methods and stakeholder engagement makes him a fantastic role model for young people exploring future careers!
Steve’s involvement aligns closely with our commitment at John Southworth to champion early careers and raise awareness of the wide range of opportunities within the built environment.
We’re incredibly proud of Steve and look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have as he represents both our industry and our company!
