We are a well-established construction company based in Dukinfield, seeking an experienced Accounts Clerk/ Accounts Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day financial processes. This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who thrives in a busy SME environment and has a strong understanding of construction industry finance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recording, processing, and reconciling supplier invoices
- Ensuring timely supplier payments
- Creating and issuing accurate customer invoices
- Handling CIS (SC60) returns and records
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Daily banking and reconciliation
- Managing general bookkeeping and account administration
- Working closely with the company director and site teams
- (Optional) Assisting with payroll processing
About You:
- Proven experience in a similar accounts role within the construction sector
- Comfortable working in a small to medium-sized business
- Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) is essential
- Experience with payroll is desirable, but not essential
